We’re celebrating TEN YEARS since the release of an phenomenal quilt-block book. In fact, we think it’s the best quilt-block book around!

Do you own a copy of 501 Rotary-Cut Quilt Blocks?

If you do, grab it and give it a congratulatory pat on the back—it’s 10 years old TODAY!

501 Rotary-Cut Quilt Blocks

If you don’t own a copy yet, read on for why the book’s been around for 10 years, why you should own it . . . and the sale we’re having on it today!

This block-packed volume has been a trusted resource for tens of thousands of quilters. Here’s why we think you love (or WILL love) the book oh-sew much:

Traditional quilt blocks are perennial favorites—they never go out of style.

The book is an amazing hands-on resource for hundreds of block designs—and their names!

Quilt block designs and their names

Although there are color illustrations of the blocks in the front of the book, the patterns feature black-and-white shading so you can use your imagination when it comes to selecting fabrics. Just follow the shaded illustrations for value placement.

Each block has directions for a variety of sizes—finished blocks range in size from 4″ to 15⅛" square. 501 blocks x 5 or 6 sizes each = thousands of options!

With this compendium of 501 quilt-block patterns (really, wrap your head around how many block patterns that is!), you can be your own quilt designer and create quilts your way.

501 Rotary-Cut Quilt Blocks author Judy Hopkins passed away in 2011. Her story as a quilter is legendary: 25 years of quiltmaking, 17 books, including three coauthored books, 600 quilt-block patterns, dozens of quilt designs, and more than a half-million books sold.

A third-generation quilter, Judy started pursuing a full-time career in quilting after being named the winner of Alaska’s Great American Quilt Contest in 1986, and she never stopped. She published her first book with That Patchwork Place, One-of-a-Kind Quilts, in 1989, and was working on her 18th book when she died. She was an inspiration to quilters worldwide, including us. She is missed.

To celebrate Judy’s best-selling book hitting the 10-year mark—and to share it with you!—we’re offering a special $10 discount when you purchase 501 Rotary-Cut Quilt Blocks through Friday, September 14. Let’s see, 501 quilt blocks divided by the discounted price of $19.99. That’s .039 cents per block pattern. Now that’s a special kind of deal for a special kind of book! (And remember, when you buy the book at ShopMartingale.com, you can instantly download the eBook for free.)

501 Rotary-Cut Quilt BlocksHere’s what quilters like you have said about 501 Rotary-Cut Quilt Blocks:

“As a new quilter, I cannot say enough good things about this book. I love the pictures of ALL the blocks offered at the very front of the book. I LOVE the detail put into each block in the instructions section, especially the grids!”

“…the patterns are solid. You need this book. Use it for centers, swaps, borders, and you won’t be disappointed!”

“I love how all the math is done for you . . . It’s the most-often used book in my quilting library.”

“I will put this book in my rolling sewing tote so I’m sure to have it each time our guild meets. Get one for yourself or buy one for a quilting friend. You and they won’t be disappointed.”

We don’t think it would be a “501” anniversary celebration without the ONE other thing you need to make the quilt blocks in the book: fabric!

Our friends at Moda Fabrics generously gave us two beautiful bundles to give away to two lucky winners: a Play All Day fat-eighth bundle from American Jane and an Oxford Prints fat-quarter bundle from Sweetwater! Moda has even added two little “Live the Good Life” tins from Bonnie & Camille—how cute! To enter to win a bundle, a tin, and a copy of 501 Rotary-Cut Quilt Blocks, tell us:

How many different quilt-block designs have you sewn since you started quilting: just a few, more than 10, more than 25, more than that?

Tell us in the comments to enter the drawing. We’ll choose two random winners one week from today and let you know by email if you win. Good luck! And remember, you can save $10 on 501 Rotary-Cut Quilt Blocks through this Friday!

Thanks to all who entered the drawing. The winners are Nancy and Diane!

Nancy says, “I’ve been quilting for many years, so I’m thinking I’ve made 100 or more blocks. 401 to go!”

Diane says, “I’ve probably done about 25 different quilt blocks. I’ve been quilting for quite a few years and I still find things to learn. Thank you for offering this lovely gift!”

We’ll email you about your prizes, ladies—congratulations!
